The Child Support Agency

The Child Support Agency aka CSA (U.K.)

Now let us take a second to analyze the actual words.
(Definitions provided by dictionary.com)

Child: A person between birth and full growth.

Support: to bear or hold up, serve as a foundation for.

Agency: an organization, company, or bureau that provides some service for another.

So in essence the Child Support Agency aka CSA in England should be providing the support or foundations for children through an organization or company.

Sounds great to me, there is only one problem with that idea, in England the Child Support Agency aka CSA has decided to involve itself with only the financial aspects of a child’s wellbeing.
With parental alienation on the rise but ignored by the English Government it baffles me that the Child Support Agency aka CSA is allowed to continue its financial crusade for the children yet remains unquestioned as to why it chooses to ignore parental alienation.

Don’t get me wrong both parents should share the responsibilities financially for their children but at the same time both parents should also play a part in the emotional and physical growth of their Childs upbringing.

I strongly disagree with the fact that there is no government run agency that pursues the rights of visitation for the children. I fail to see why there is no criminal action enforcable against parents who intentionally alienate their children from the other parent without cause, while the government is only too happy to pursue criminal action against those who refuse to pay for their kids.

(Maybe this is due to the Child Support Agency being able to extract a commission for their services. Therefore the pursuit of finances rewards them with a monetary gain.)

Sure you can go through the family courts and spend thousands of pounds trying to gain access to the child or children whom you have be alienated from but legally there is no criminal action that can be taken against a parent who deliberately disrupts visitation between a child and their parent.

Why is this?

Child support is not just a monetary issue so why not combine the emotional, physical and financial rights of the child.

So here are a few ideas for the English government to consider.

Firstly call a spade a spade. Rename the Child Support Agency aka CSA to the ‘Child Financial Collection Agency’.

My second proposal and this is a far bolder move for the government to consider. Initiate a second company called ‘Child Visitation Rights Agency’.

This company could monitor and mediate between the children’s parents ensuring that the child is not alienated from either parent, safe guarding the rights of a child to have both parents in his or her life.

Now if the two companies worked alongside each other safeguarding both the financial and emotional support for the children I am confident that the financial support for the children would increase tenfold.

This would not solve every issue. There is still a large percentage of parents who just want to be absent in their children’s lives and this would remain so.

However those who find their selves alienated from their children would welcome such measures and be only too pleased to pay for their children’s financial upkeep as this would be a huge reduction in costs when compared to the money they spend on lawyers through the non actionable family courts.
